Safe and Sound

I watched the falling rain as it hit the ground. The temperature had dropped. Ice was forming everywhere. I went outside and cleared the ice off the car. It would not be an easy drive to work.

Sirens … people stopping. I said a little prayer that no one was hurt. Sadness filled my heart as the fear rose up inside me. My compassion for all people and beings surrounded my thoughts. Let no one suffer today, dear Lord.
.
Safely at work, I greet everyone as they come through the door happy knowing that God heard my prayer. And as I look around me at the huge picture windows that surround me I see the beauty of nature even as she turns to ice.

For a few moments I looked outside my window. With joy I watched the droplets of rain form on the tree branches then fall like teardrops longing for the sun. Again my heart is glad to receive the gift that is so freely given to us all.
