Artist's Description

An animals sense of hearing is far more acute than humans. When I was only a young girl, my Dad taught me how to make silent footsteps in the woods. He made me practice putting down my toe first and then my heel. It was very much like dancing! He believed that not even a deer could hear you coming if you walked in silence in this way.

One day as we were walking I heard the breaking of twigs so I looked up and there about 50 yards in front of us was a deer. My mouth fell open … he had not heard us coming but an animals sense of sight is very good also. That deer soon took off deeper into the woods. He had SEEN us coming. hehe, Fooled ya Dad!
