Those who know me, know how I love the hawk … and …. know that I have been trying to capture a hawk for a long time. My camera is not a very good one for pictures of birds, the quality is not clear and crisp and most times you cannot determine the features at all. But today … today I got these pictures of my long awaited hawk. She flew across the road only a few feet of me and landed in the tree … waiting for me.. I obliged.
It may not be the most clear or sharp picture ever taken but for my camera it is the most ever…
Hawk teasing me … and turns her back on me ….

Powerful image…great capture !!!!
Helua, this shot was a dream for me .. but I hope to get an even better one when I get a better camera one day. It was very powerful for me.
oh, he is gorgeous, judi! hawk is so magical and elusive and wonderful….i feel so connected to him as well….what a blessing for you!!!
Hawks are really very precious, aren’t they. I was BLESSED .. I know that. I was just tellling someone how I have never been able to get a good shot of a hawk with this camera. Well it is not a great pic but for me .. it was a blessing indeed.
I get so excited when I see a Hawk!! Lucky you…………beautiful shot Judi…………….
Oh Ruth, I feel the same way .. I was so afraid of scaring her away as I got closer to take the pic. She let me get to right under that tree … it was amazing who close I was. I am glad she liked me .. lol
Aw what a lovely bird Judi, you captured a fantastic moment in nature, so majestic is this lovely bird, and you were right there to capture her beauty…I know your photography ability is far beyond the reach of the ability of your camera my dear.
Thank you for this, Zoe. I was in the right place at the right time … I remember telling you once how I wished I could get a really good hawk picture but felt that I am so limited by my camera. One day maybe I will get a better one and really be able to capture her again and be able to show even more of her beauty. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
AWESOME!!!! How exciting! This is such a cool shot….I like the one of him being bashful too! :)
She was teasing me alright … But I was so enjoying seeing her that I was just so grateful to be within a few feet of her. When she flew away her massive wings seemed to reach so far that I was standing in her shadow because of it.
