All around me the suburbs of south-western Sydney are fast asleep.
I went a bit crazy, last night. Had a craving for things I shouldn’t eat and I’m paying for it now. The cramps are starting to ease.
Nothing for it but to find a distraction.
Turned on the computer and came across the picture, taken,in 1967, of Diane practising her high jumping, in preparation for the annual public schools athletics carnival, in Hay, in “far west” New South Wales.
Plan was to construct a picture of her jumping above the picture, if you see what I mean.
But it grew and grew, as I gathered the bits and pieces again.
I’ve written about my short stay, in Maude-via-Hay (That rhymes!) so often. (Just google my name, in association with words like: Wake in Fright. Sunday too far away. and you’ll find some of them.
It’s water-over-the-weir now. (As opposed to under the North Bourke bridge.)
It was an experience, like a non-swimmer being thrown into the pool to see how (s)he goes. It was not a triumph but many good things came out of it, including being sent to Bourke_, from there.
Thanks for reading this far…….I’m working up to painting again……and digging around in the photos and associated memories worked before!
