At Mascot School, it all came together for me. I enjoyed coaching the soccer teams for Friday and Saturday competitions. I enjoyed teaching all of the primary department pupils, a number of different ballroom dances. I enjoyed taking their art to the then Waratah Festival, held in Hyde Park, in those years.

At night and during the school holidays, I was doing the Art Teachers Conversion Course and I was successful when going for my first promotion……
