Artist's Description

“… and a lonely night it was when last I saw that dragon move off into the dark …”

OK OK … lol … I realize I left a whole lot out of the story. Let’s just say I wasn’t ready to share the whole truth and nothing but the truth when I first mentioned the incident. Even now after all these years I’m not sure it’s a good thing to let everyone know what really happened. To stave off all the inquiries I’ve gotten, especially recently, I will add a few more details. So cozy up and have a comfy sit down for a moment while I tell you how I met that testy little beastie …

It was a very ordinary day like most days and having no pressing matters to attend to I decided to take a walk along the river that ran through Trevor’s meadow. The sun was burning it’s way through a thin layer of clouds and there was a warm breeze moving through the grass around me. I usually dink around the water checking for any cool river rocks to add to my collection and that today was no exception however it wasn’t a river rock that I found … it was an amulet that seemed to be made of a dark green crystal. I was so flabbergasted I almost fell in the river!

My grandmother used to tell me stories about the crystal amulets. She believed the stories to be true and of course I thought she was just trying to scare me. So you can understand why I was so flabbergasted finding one. She called the green one the Dragon amulet .. like I said I never really believed her but there I was sitting on the grassy bank holding it in my hands and it was starting to get warm. No not the air .. the amulet was getting warm and with a popping sound and a puff of smoke it flew out of my hands. Faster than I could scramble to my feet and out of the smoke a dragon turned and was watching me with his glowing eyes. I was totally stunned and frozen in place thinking I was soon to be dinner.

Amazing right? .. well it was to me .. it was amazing I didn’t have a heart attack and die on the spot! … lol … you see I survived … well obviously since I’m here (grin)… and now I suppose you’re just itching to find out what happened next, aren’t you? lol … well I only promised to tell you how I met that testy little beastie … (grin) …

Oh you want more? lol … well it’s actually time for me to head on home … it’s getting late and tomorrow’s another day … and maybe when we meet again I’ll tell you what that dragon did next ….

catch ya later! ………..
