Five Lessons on How We Treat People

My brother in law just emailed me this and I just have to share it with all of you … regardless of whether they are true or not I think the advice is good (big smile)…

pardon all the mis-capitalizations … it was that way in the email … too many for me to remove .. hope you don’t mind …

1 – First Important Lesson – Cleaning Lady.

During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student And had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?” Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the Cleaning woman several times. She was tall, Dark-haired and in her 50’s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last questio

Onkalo - The Place You Must Always Remember to Forget

… and man found a second fire .. that fire that would not stop burning .. it burned within them and their children and all that lived upon the earth … they buried this fire so it could burn into eternity away from all living things … and then man began to worry that his children might find it and awaken the fire .. so he bade his children to tell their children and their children to remember forever to forget ……

a must watch film .. yes it’s a long one .. a little over an hour … please take the the time and watch … yes it is your choice … I will not twist your arm or force you to watch … but know this before you choose … it may change you forever …

remember to remember forever to forget …

So God Make a Farmer ...

Since I didn’t watch the SuperBowl this year I missed seeing this fabulous ad with Paul Harvey’s speech to the Future Farmers of America … it’s well worth watching and also to remember that as the years go by there are fewer and fewer family farmers and more and more factory farms … back in the early 80’s a brother of a friend gave me a book to read about how bad it will be when corporations take over the production of our food … a nightmare in many ways … and it’s happening now …

Support your local family farmers .. they are a treasure and they truly are caretakers of the land …

The Museum Exhibit of the Sarika Artifacts

I’m trying something new with my work … most of you who follow it know I like to add stories, poetry and sometimes even music to my presentations.…

Well this time I thought I’d do a museum tour about the Sarika and the artifacts found of their civilization. The tour includes seven artifacts spread over their individual pages. One starts with The Sarika ArchWorks .. the story continues on each image in order in the series ….

In the Series are these images:

The Sarika ArchWorks - begin with this image …
there will be a link to take you in order to the remaining artifacts in the exhibit:

I know I could have used a journal entry to present the whole story however I’m trying something new and presenting it like an old hypercard presentation (old time Mac people know what I’m talking about

"drought-parched and tinder-dry..."

It’s been the hottest late spring and early summer so far … the title says it all “drought-parched and tinder-dry…” The State of Colorado is burning .. huge fires burning it’s way through hundreds of houses with at least 32,000 people evacuated …. reminds me of the Aussie fire a few years ago .. animals are running for their lives along with humans … My heart still hurts knowing what happened to all the animals……

Up here in Wyoming we’re also having our extremely dry and hot days … It’s mostly been in the high 90sF with a few days already in the low 100sF! … Blasting hot along with exceedingly dry conditions are horrible …. we already have fires here in Wyoming … one big one (about 40sq miles – 27,000acres) about an hour away … none as bad as the ones in Colorado but it can happen here w

Creating Theme and Variations with Filter Forge

Theme and Variation…

I was doodling around awhile back and thought I’d try doodling on the ’puter rather than with pen/paper … well I came up with this:

and what prompted all my doodling? WellI found this website:

and a bunch of books on Amazon, for example:

Zentangle 2

it’s been a lot of fun and I’ve started a book journal with them (smile)

So since I love creating using programs and tools on my computer and recycling my art by mutating it in as many ways as possible (grin) I took the original Zentangle Doodle “Theme”: and using Filter Forge 3 I started creating variations … 28 variations later I decided to share them with you (grin/smile) …

I happen to really like the program “Filter Forge”: http://www.filterforge.com with can be either a plugin for PhotoShop or a standalone

I always knew that Santa Claus lived at the North Pole but just where at the North Pole? Many years I searched but could never find him. But then I found this search engine tool made the search so much easier and quicker. It’s called LMGTFY – Let Me Google That For You!

What is it? It’s a little helper site/tool that allows you to type in a question which it will translate for you into google speak and get the results of your query for you.

How do you do that? Well you type in your question .. (no question mark needed) and click “Google Search” button …. LMGTFY then translates your question into a google query which you can then copy and paste into your browser’s addy bar or just click “go” and LMGTFY get it for you!… saves a lot of time ….
