The November sun lowers toward the horizon as adult male polar bears make their way, single file, toward Hudson Bay. They’ve been fasting since spring melted the ice platforms they rely on for hunting so each November day brings another hope: did today see enough freeze-up so they can return to their livelihoods on the ice for the winter…?
