Artist's Description

In my travels to Africa, I’d always found the leopard’s talent for stealth and secrecy an overwhelming challenge to finding them in the bush. And then I arrived at Little Tubu which has a growing reputation for sightings of leopards. On our first game drive, we had yet to cross the wooden bridge that connects camp to the surrounding wilderness of Hunda Island, when another guide’s voice on the radio reported a female leopard and cub. Practically at the end of the “driveway,” the thick cover of woodland parted just enough to reveal little spots peering out from dappled shade.
