Artist's Description

Sandpipers travel in large numbers, and are the most amazing flying acrobats. Somehow they are able to fly in wonderful formations, that make human aeronautic teams look amateurish. Most often they are pictured in large groups, because they are very social. I managed to isolate this one as it foraged for food on the beach at Oyster Bay Regional Park on Vancouver Island on Canada’s west coast.
