Did You Ever Wish?

Did you ever wish that you were someone else?
Only to find yourself wishing yourself back.
Maybe it happened because someone made you feel sad.
Only to find that it was something small that you lack.

Did you ever wish that it would happen to someone else?
Only to find yourself feeling sorry if it did.
It wasn’t easy to forgive yourself for such a faith.
Because the consequences later on you had to admit.

Did you ever wish that you hadn’t been born at all?
Only to find out of all the wonderful things in life.
Maybe you lost a dear friend or someone you loved.
Yet in the end you were blessed with a husband or a wife.

Did you ever wish that someone would love you so much?
Only to find out that there is a special loving heart.
All you have to do is live and be strong throughout.
Just don’t wait too long because today is the day you start.

Artist's Description

Sometimes in anger we wish for the wrong things. This poem reminds us that for the spur of the moment it may be okay, but in the long run it was better not to.
