There Was A Time

There was a time when it took a smile,
Just to get your attention for a while.
But lately you seem to ignore my style,
And you haven’t tried to kiss in awhile.

There was a time when you cared for me,
The whole world would look and see.
But lately there’s nothing to agree,
Maybe it’s time to set your heart free.

There was a time when we embraced time,
Our discussions would make things fine.
But lately there’s no dinning or wine,
Or waiting for a movie standing in line.

There was a time we held hands outside,
Our romantic emotions showed with pride.
But lately you don’t even want a ride,
And when I call you it seems you hide.

There was a time we loved each other,
We did things without haste or bother.
But lately we are like sis and brother,
So good-bye I know of your new lover.
