A Precious Little Magic Box

A Precious Little Magic Box

There was a little magic box that had many precious things.
It had no diamonds, jewelery, pearls, or even stones or rings.
When I first got it the little box was a hand-me-down.
I wasn’t very excited since it was empty and so I frowned.

Years passed until I finally had something there to place.
The box was given by my grandparents without ever seeing my face.
Since then I have filled it with many memories of myself.
I will pass it on to my children as it becomes their wealth.

The precious little magic box will be valued dearly.
It will be filled with my memories and their eyes will be tearly.
It will not contain diamonds, jewelery, stones, or gold.
A price cannot be given or the precious things will be undersold.

Someday I hope they will empty it and pass it on in turn.
It will be a valuable loving lesson that we all must learn.
The magic of the box will live forever with tender care.
How precious will it be someday your heart will be made aware.
