She Was Poor

She Was Poor

Yes, she was poor in the taste of the beauty of the world,
Never having the pleasures to parade her feet to venture far.
Her eyes were beautiful in a dark cave full of emotions of secrecy,
Yet bold enough to view the earth from a perch as she gazed the stars.

High above the earth of hidden valleys and rocks so pure of minerals,
She exceeded the comforts of the human race to remain silent with a voice.
The roots that she knew little of had been voided of the view to see beyond,
And she was as wild as the wind, but her heart was lonely with very little choice.

Only once had this creature seen a body of the opposite structure of her,
As a species wearing clothes had come to experience the only life she knew.
Her eyes had marveled at the animalistic figure that roamed her neighborhood,
And she wanted so much to touch his skin that resembled a skin of a baby anew.

She marked the tree bark as the moons came and passed throughout the nights,
Hoping that some day he would visit and if her strength would meet his eyes.
Then it happened that the stars remembered her dreams to see a clone of man,
And she waited for the time to make her presence known with moves of mice.
