A Magic Forest

A Magic Forrest

I see myself walking on a cloudy day in the woods alone,
And then I come to a clearing where I find a huge stone.
For a little while I sit with my shoes off by the little creek,
Dipping my bare feet in water as I see the animal I came to seek.

A beautiful creature walking towards me coming for a drink,
My eyes affix themselves to her beauty as I refuse to blink.
She senses me as I watch her bathe in the clear crystal water,
Being patience that I do not disturb her and her daughter.

Her twitching nose arouses her senses and knows it’s me again,
Then both look up at the sky and let me know of the coming rain.
I pick up a strong branch to use to push the tall grass in my path,
And I hurriedly follow them until they stop for me to catch my breath.

To a secret place they lead me so that we all can stay dry,
Knowing that my heart is gentle and they need not ask me why.
I watched as mother and child lay down to rest for a while,
Then they allow me to rest beside them with a comfort smile.

A gentle storm passes us by and we exit the hidden place,
Then they chase from behind on the path like we are in a race.
I reach the edge of the magic forest that I have to bit good-by,
And they push me gently out with their noses as to stay I try.
