Night Of The Witch

A reclusive old woman had not be seen for over a year,
Undutiful was she when she lost all her senses to hear.
In seclusion she remained until the day of Halloween night,
Wistfully waiting until she could unleash her horrifying fright.

One hand missing so the witch adorned a very sharp broach,
Two horses ready to pull her midnight black colored coach.
A broom by her side awkwardly waiting until the time is right,
Soon as the buggy stopped it was time for the witch’s flight.

An orange background moon surrounded by darken clouds,
Made the echoing laughs of the old lady sound very loud.
Unattended children walking the streets trick-or treating,
As the witch landed her ride so that she could do her greeting.

“Come children, I have many candies to give you, if you follow me,”
And with her make believe sweet innocent voice they all came to see.
One by one they loaded the coach and she took them to her house,
Many parents gathered together in fear as they all were aroused.

They stormed the run down place looking for their lost little ones,
And couldn’t find them and only clues of where they were once.
A trail led to a cemetery that was hidden deep in the woods,
The children had bags in hand filled with all kinds of sweet goods.

They all looked at the sky as the witch flew high in her broom,
Children spoke and said, “Let’s go back to one of the witch’s room.”
They found pictures of children playing and food all around,
And a note that said,” There is a treasure buried here underground."

Once dug out the fortune was riches for all that came to see,
But another note that stated, “Here forever you will always be.”
From beneath the house a rumble and then they all sank,
A lesson of riches to keep, but no one save you, or to give thanks.
