My Troubled Past

My Troubled Past

Many, many years ago in a time of trouble,
I ran away with my baggage in tote.
Somehow I believed that I could find the answer,
and perhaps bottle it for a later ante dote.

Problems that paralyzed my brain of thought,
because I believed that wiser was my reasoning,
However: as I wondered freely in a space of galore,
I learned that wonder years needed more seasoning.

There were hills and mountains untamed to explore,
and for a lack of wisdom it consumed my every thought.
Then one day a voice far beyond a place I once called a home,
I heard words of knowledge that my mind had finally caught.

Bitter was my return as time had not stood still,
and my internal focus was to repair what had weakened me.
The aches and pains somehow did not matter that much at all,
for the rendezvous trip had educated the soul that wanted to be free.
