Maybe I Should Have Been A Hornet Bee

I can tell that people don’t want to talk to me.
Could it be that they don’t like what they see?
It really doesn’t matter if our words don’t agree.
They just seem to give me the third degree.

How much trouble can I really be?
No more than cracking open a pod to get to the pea.
I guest our friend-ships have sailed out to sea.
With a wounded captain limping on a broken knee.

They used to respond with a yes, no, or just maybe.
Now they remain silent like a log, or a fallen tree.
If only I had a friend like that of a hornet bee!
Then maybe I could tell it to sting them on their hinee.

Artist's Description

It’s sad when people turn their backs on you for no apparent reason. Don’t you wish you could just pay them back?
