Who Was That Security Girl

I saw her walk to the dance floor
With someone in hand.
As my heart sank to the floor
With anticipations of being her man.

There were doubts,
But my unwavering heart said, " Yes you Can?"
So I waited for the next song
As I prepared to make my own stand.

I almost tripped
As I quickly walked over to where she stood.
My mind invision her dancing with me
And saying she would.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think
If my plan was any good.
When she turned to me and said to my face,
“Sorry, I’m not in the mood.”

Then the next young man grabbed her hand
And led her to the dance floor.
As my empty heart felt so saddened
And in no mood to ask anymore.

My plans were to hurry up
And get out through the back exit hidden door.
She had speared my heart
And reached the deepest of it’s inner core.

A security guard stopped me short of leaving
As she told me to wait.
She advised me that if I opened that door
I would never learn of my fate.

The midnight hour was approaching and she said,
“It’s getting quite late.”
And that there was still a good chance
Of walking out with her as my date.

I didn’t believe her words,
But I also was careful not question her advise.
Somehow she spoke so heavenly
Like an angel with words of the wise.

She convinced me to return
And face my demons with all of their demise.
And with the fear still in my soul
I dediced to treat her so gently and nice.

When I re-entered the dance hall
The whole place was void of anyone there.
I lowered my head and went outside
Knowing I had lost the girl that I cared.

And as I was about to get on my bicycle
I saw the guard wave me to go over there.
She was talking to my girl
And all I could do was just look at them and stare

The security guard helped her get on the back of the bicycle
And gave us a shove.
Then she disappeared as we both looked up
At a shiney bright star from above.

And that night that beautiful girl and I
Became more than friends as we fell in love.
Insepartable like a baseball player
And his most famous magical glove.
