Artist's Description

The Bristol Sycamore, the first British designed helicopter operated by the RAF, was used for search and rescue duties during the 1960s. XJ830 was looked after at RAF Finningley for the RAF Museum and is pictured during the 1983 Battle of Britain Air Display. It has been painted with the markings of No 202 Squadron even though that unit never used this type of helicopter.
