Artist's Description

Historic Wood’s Grist Mill – originally built in 1838 by John Wood as a wood frame structure. It was later rebuilt of brick in 1876 by Nathan Wood, John’s son, as a custom flouring mill- this was lake County’s first successful industry.

This is a close up of a “wheel” There are many layers of paint and rust- each tells a story of its time—The mill is currenty closed but will be open soon as spring sneaks back in and thaws the area for us!
