Artist's Description

Ailurus fulgens, AKA the Red Panda, is endemic to temperate areas of the Himilayan forests. Though their numbers are estimated at between 11,000 and 20,000 in the wild, the Red Panda is still only classed as a “vulnerable” species despite continued loss of habitat and poaching.

Taken on the 21st of November 2009 at Australia Zoo, Beerwah, Queensland. Shot with a Canon 450d and a 70-300 is usm telephoto at 250mm.

Shutter: 1/80th
