Journal

Exhibition Time!

Hi friends! It’s been a long time between journals, I know! I wanted to spread the word about my first ever photography exhibition I’m running with fellow photographer Stef Dunn in Brisbane.

We’re exhibiting about 30 large (most of Stef’s images are almost 50" long!) images at the Art Factory Gallery in South Brisbane, from June 30th until July 12th, with a strong emphasis on seascape and rainforest imagery.

Please feel free to drop in and have a look! All are welcome, and entry is of course free.

Also, drop in on the facebook event page for the latest updates and what not. Feel free to spread the love!

Thanks, hope to see you there!

100,000

It seems 3 years here has granted me over 100,000 profile views. Thanks to everyone reading this for viewing my work, commenting, giving feedback, and hopefully enjoying :)

I am very excited to exhibit in SoJie 12. SoJie 12 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 12th one, ever, and 120 other members of the Solo Exhibition group, besides myself, are represented.

This exhibition is based on a workshop, in which I participated, where member artists translated member photographers’ images to traditional art medium.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on August 31st, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hop

Google+

Anyone using the Google+ facebook clone? I’m liking it more so far, though I’ve yet to find many of you fine people on it. I’ve also got plenty of invites for it, so if anyone’s keen to have a look let me know. :)

Cheers

Another cracking month which I owe alot to RB for :)

This month I’ve received 132 features…

…sold 5 images from my website, and 2 cards from RB…

…and been nominated for the SoJie 11 Invitational Exhibition put on by Solo Exhibition. Check out my nomination journal and take a peek at some of the fantastic pieces of art in the web ring!

A huge, huge, HUGE thanks to all the groups and fine individuals running them, particularly Frannie & the Solo Exhibition/SoJie team and nominators, for making RB the inspiring and encouraging community that is. :)

I am very excited to have my art selected, from over 67000 works of art, to exhibit in SoJie 11. SoJie 11 takes its name from the Solo Exhibition group’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 11th one, ever, and 73 other artists, besides myself, are represented.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on June 1st, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The works are shown “gallery size” and are beautiful,

March Features, Sales, Victoria.. future!

Hi all! I’ve had a eventful month the last month, received a whopping 83 image features and made a heap of sales from both RB and my personal site which is very exciting.…

I was also lucky enough to spend 2 weeks careering around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road region and through Otway National Park campervan-style with Shell, so I’ve got a huge backlog of images to process over the next few weeks.. or months! I’d also like to thank our good friend Andrew Parmi for showing us around Melbourne city at the end of our trip, was great to finally meet you, talk some rubbish and do some shooting mate!

The last few months I’ve really reaffirmed my passion for seascape photography, and it’s now more evident than ever that this style will probably always count for the majority of my work, I love it. I’

Website & Sales

As many of you undoubtable know I finally launched my personal website a week ago today, and it’s been quite successful. I’ve received some great feedback, and have infact had numerous sales because of it – along with a few off RB. Thanks to all that’ve given me feedback about the site, and of course those who’ve chosen to purchase some stuff! If you’re still after something cheap, you have until 9pm Brisbane time to receive 50% off anything using the promo code “weblaunch”. Anyway, here are some of the images that went!…
