It’s like London

It’s like London

It’s like an invisible cloak that makes you impervious to getting in trouble.
It’s like the high James Dean wore,
That sense of euphoria that erupted his bubble.

It’s like one moment of good in life, out weighing a life time of bad.
It’s like stopping a brother in the street,
Black or white and talking to him, because you know that he’s mad.

It’s like small talk made by folks that don’t like each other.
It’s like their attempt to find some calm in some real bad stormy weather.

It’s like the faith of the criminal on the cross who told Jesus, save me a place in your kingdom when we die my brother.
It’s like a lot of things that were said, promised, and done without love for one another.

It’s like being so happy that you start to cry.
It’s like what your sister done, when she punched the school bully in the eye.

Mannn, it’s like what I done the first time I walked out of jail.
Or it’s like the first time my girlfriend came to visit me;
walking hand in hand with my Nan and that day I was mad coming out of my cell.

It’s like realizing that the best person to speak to someone about themselves is with them self.

It’s like realizing life’s so much more fun with simplicity.
But arr what do I know, I’m this guy who’s in love with this big city…..
