A plant that somehow took root in my garden at the beginning of last year and took another few months to bloom to see what kind of flowers it had as I didn’t recognize the foliage. Yes indeed it could be called a wild flower or even a weed in the city proper. It is Snakeroot or Eupatorium and is extremely poisonous, although has been used in herbal remedies. It was somewhat attractive the first year but by the time it came to blooming reached a height of almost 5 feet with these tiny flowers in cluster heads at the top. Square format.
I did not wait another year to pull them up! Too bad, they didn’t need a whole lot of light to bloom.
