I live in Monterey, CA (U.S.), a mostly sunny (but occasionally foggy) coastal town next to a huge marine wildlife preserve. My images range from modern retro and minimalism (clean lines, bright colors) often incorporating land and sea botanicals. I’m inspired by nature and elemental forces, town and city life with occasional experiments that surprise even me. I’ll be adding new art to my shop on a weekly—if not daily—basis, and will occasionally remove older items. So if you want something, don’t wait too long! ;-) Most of my POD products are signed “Okir,” but paintings are signed with my name, Jean Vengua, or just “Vengua.” My website, jeanvengua.com will give you a lot more info.

I’ve been painting a lot, lately (also sold a couple paintings and am involved w/several art events locally), so I have been in the tactile world of paint/goop, canvas, and paper. I find that I have to switch cognitive gears, so to speak, to get back into digital mode, which has a “feel” of its own — and sometimes it’s a relief to not have to deal with goop and canva…
Just wanted to shout out to RedBubble for featuring my work: thanks! And also thanks to everyone who has followed me and/or left a message. It’s great to hear from folks. I have previously not had much contact w/other RedBubble artists, except for one forum discussion (which turned out to be very helpful). / All this makes me want to go over the items on my RedBubble site, take stock, maybe…
I received several products with my designs on them recently, and I’m very pleased with the the quality. All are true to color, as far as I can see. I like the quality of the totebags (in comparison to Society 6 bags, whose lining wears off when washed, the lining on the RedBubble bag appears more sturdy). The stickers were black and white; they were clear, and line quality was very good. I…
First, thanks to all my customers who bought products in 2017! To be honest, I wasn’t sure if this RedBubble project would work for me when I started, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. / We’re well into 2018 now, and I have culled a number of older images and added some new ones. I’ve changed my profile header, too. I received a guidebook to California seaweeds for Chris…
