Featured in 1:1 with the News 9/3/2009

Some of the dead whales that were stranded on King Island (Tasmania, Australia) on March 2nd 2009.

About 200 piolet whales and 8 bottle nosed dolphines came ashore- only 54 survived- this was the largest beaching in Tasmania but also the most rescued!

Why do whales beach themselves? I’m sure they don’t mean to!
