Artist's Description

We climbed a hill overlooking the Cambridge Gulf and looked out to sea. Awed by the majesty and immensity of this waterway which was one of the life-giving tendrils luring explorers into the uncharted Kimberley. You could imagine Patsy Durack later droving huge mobs of cattle to the port for loading on ships or servicing the boom town which arose from the brief gold rush at Halls Creek.
