Artist's Description

OK so it’s nearly winter and its getting quite nippy (fires alight at night) but the warm (ish) sunny days are bringing out some Squamata’s (Serpentes) to warm their blood, found this beautiful Carpet Python sunning itself in a tree branch about head height while wandering along a path at Look At Me Know Headland, Emerald Beach, NSW, Australia. He must have really been in a daze because as soon as I let him know of my presence he literally flew from the branch in an explosion of wiggly snake and was gone!! Sorry, but it was pretty funny to see.
This was one of 4 snakes spotted to 4 days off winter (two Red Belly Black Snakes and a juvanile green tree snake)
