Artist's Description

Burton’s legless lizard – Lialis burtonis is a pygopodid lizard (“legless lizard”) found in Australia and New Guinea. The most notable feature of this legless lizard is its angular snout. A very snake like lizard that comes in a multitude of colour variations even within the same area. Notice the tongue is lizard like unlike the forked tongue of a snake!
