While travelling through the Woolshed Valley near Eldorado, Victoria, I came across this Eastern Long-necked Tortoise (Chelodina longicollis). I stopped the car and jumped out to get some shots. My workmate wandered around while I was capturing this guy and found another tortoise, then another and another. We found nine all in close proximity! They were wandering up from the waterhole to lay their eggs. It certainly is tortoise season because I have saved sveral more from being squished on the road.
