When I was a Child

I remember a peaceful time
A time when I didn’t believe in lies
A time when all I could see
Was the growing of my willow tree.

I remember when my mother smiled,
When looking at her precious child.
I knew when I saw those blocks of white
I was doing something right.

I remember climbing up that hill,
The one that constructed all my will.
Never did I think to stop,
For I yearned to reach the top.

And then when I was almost there
Some boy pointed out the possibility of Fail.
So I turned around right away.
It wasn’t worth the risk.

So in result of my past,
I’ve learned that fun doesn’t last.
I’ve learned to obey what others say,
Wouldn’t dare leading my own way.

Oh, how I long to see those teeth
To see affection from beneath.
I want to tell how I feel
I want to let go and be revealed.

I remember when I once believed
In myself, in my seed.
If I were only a kid again
I wouldn’t know what reality is.

Artist's Description

It has always been facinating how happy children are. I have never witnessed a smile as genuine as a childs on the face of an adult. I hope one day we all find the happiness that we once held.
