The cold weather has caused a lot of fish to die here in Southern Florida and the turkey vultures have been very active. They were squabbling over a fish two days ago. Today, when there were so many more dead fish everywhere they were able to gorge themselves in peace.

Wonderful capture Liz!! but very sad indeed that the fish died with the cold temperatures, at least the birds will have their fill. Great details and colours on the vultures!!! – hope that it’s getting warmer for you now.
Thanks Kate. No, it is not warm yet. Today the high was 53 and it was windy. UGH!!

Lovely action shot of some Vultures actively arguing over fish! These dark birds can be tricky when it comes to exposure and you did a wonderful job!!! I’ve been hearing about how the cold weather has been affecting the wildlife there and hope the warm weather is back again soon. : )
Thanks so much Sandy. It is still cold and ther wildlife people have started to clean all the dead fish off the beaches and mangrove areas. There are hundreds…maybe thousands of them…Most of the birds will not eat dead fish. Only the wood storks and the vultures seem to be interested. I am ready for it to warm up. That;s why I am here!
