Artist's Description

Curtis Mansion is a historic property originally built in the 1920’s in Miami Springs by aircraft pioneer Glenn Curtis. This picture captures a late summer sunrise peeking through the architectural details of this southwestern pueblo-style building (a novelty in South Florida that was popular in the 1920’s and 30’s).

The house is rumored to be haunted by Curtiss, who died unexpectedly in the home in 1930, and there have been rumblings of spooky phenomenon ever since. The house has burned down twice, and is only recently renovated and re-opened after 30 years of abandonment.

1975 Vivitar Series 1 35-85mm 1:2.8 Auto Variable Focus
