The Sick Tree

The tree has a cough
But the shrub has a laugh
For the boldness of the tree
Is wearing a half a laugh

Winging and wining
Crying as he may
The coughing tree
Will blow him away

Legs and hands
And sticky head
He’ll be happy at last
He’ll go to bed.

Artist's Description

This is a poem that I wrote not long ago to personify the winter months in Australia and how many people felt.
