Tears and dogs and chains

Oh God,

Tears climb forth from my eyes, scrambling out from the corners like rabid dogs,
Claws ripping at the ground, unearthing things once buried and forgotten.
Shards of broken chains lay in trails behind them glistening in the cold moonlight.
My face is a path of rivers, twisted and blighted reflecting my heart.
The dogs’ howls echo through my vocal cords, resonate, surface.
My tears are like stones being squeezed from my flesh, splitting my skin wide open.
I don’t want to bear this. I just want to fall asleep.
