Keep me

We strip down the forests so we can forget.
The tree that we ate from that wrought of regret.
The knowledge once treasured now leads to our death.
The choices we make will seize our last breath.

We slaughter our babies to revise our mistakes.
We fake love to make love to drape our heartaches.
Our suicides and massacres and all our broken souls,
He looks at them with solemn eyes and feels our pain in whole.

His blood and sweat and tears and love to compensate sin’s price.
Even still we turn from Him and all His sacrifice.
Unworthy and ungrateful my heart deserves to suffer.
But by His grace and by His mercy I can have another.

My Lord, my God, my Savior, may praise be unto Thee.
No words could prove my love for You the way You do for me.
I’ll worship You in everything with every breath and word.
Hold me close oh Lord my God; keep me undeterred.
