The big boat is owned by a great friend of mine, and he is going. Probably going to fuel up before heading out to sea for another trip. The boats name is Arctic Ocean. I heard recently he had sold it, so I will not see my friend very much. We used to offload this boat at the dock that I worked for many years. I wouldn’t mind a dollar for every pound we took off her.
The small boat looks to be a live cod boat. They bring 90% of their fish to town alive. They get a good price for their catch, probably $10.00 a pound, but not allowed a big catch. I guess supply and demand, is why they get big bucks. The buyers have trucks with big water tanks so to keep the fish alive for their market. Took this picture from my previous workplace, Cove Fisheries, Port Hardy, BC Canada on the north coast of Vancouver Island with my Lumix DMC FZ 50 camera. Thank you for viewing, and is best viewed larger.
