While considering photographic destinations I decided that I should put my ideas on paper, both for my own use and also for friends that may want to join me on one or more of these excursions. I’m happy to work alone, but sometimes it is nice to have someone to share fuel expenses and/or driving, or just to provide company on long drives.

So here are a few places I want to visit or revisit in the not too distant future…

  1. The Otways. There are so many fantastic photographic opportunities here! I have been many times but I don’t think I will ever get sick of photographing in this area.
(Could be either day trips or weekend trips from my base at Werribee)
  2. Lake Elizabeth near Forrest – day trip perhaps (but very early start preferred)
  3. Queenscliff/Point Lonsdale Sunrise – day trip with very early start.
  4. Mungo – Long weekend needed for this one
  5. Tasmania anywhere. I have done Cradle Mountain in a weekend and would be happy to do it again, particularly when there is snow on the mountain.
  6. Great Ocean Road Generally – day trips or weekend trips.
  7. The Grampians – weekend trip at least.
  8. Tarra-Bulga National Park, South Gippsland – Either a weekend or a very full day trip.
  9. Trestle Bridge Colquhoun State Forest – Weekend trip (inspired by Joe Mortelliti)
  10. Mt. Buffalo snowgums – Weekend (Hmm, are there snowgums at Lake Mountain?)
Actually I just checked and there is currently no accomodation on Mt. Buffalo, so it would be a weekend trip to say Myrtleford and a day trip in to Buffalo from there.

This is just a start, no doubt many more destinations will be added. Feel free to make any recommendations of spots within striking distance of Werribee (Melbourne).

Also anyone looking for a companion for a particular trip, I’d be happy to hear about it.
Also local and/or city excursions with a purpose.

Regretably a day job means I am only able to get away on weekends, public holidays or evenings.
