Artist's Description

I couldn’t believe how very tiny this little bee was. And he was loaded down with the white pollen from the Petunia. He seemed to be carrying as much pollen as his own body weight. If I had not loaded this photo onto my computer, I would not have been certain this speck was a bee! I also noticed that the Petunias on this bank mostly had darker centers. At first I thought this was from the sun, but tonight I’m wondering if it wasn’t caused by the critters going inside, wet with perspiration. Do bugs sweat? I certainly was sweating so much that I had to leave at this point. Temperatures in Austin today reached 101 degrees! Oh, dear Lord, let’s have a cool spell!
