2009 BWPA Success - Emperor Dragonfly Chosen for Exhibition

I was completely bowled over to have this entry chosen for exhibition in the 2009 BWPA (British Wildlife Photography Awards).

This is a new award, with the chosen entries being exhibited in London at Hoopers Gallery then touring the UK visiting prominent National Trust properties and other popular venues during 2009 and 2010.

Jackie and I attended the presentation ceremony last week, it was great to see my image alongside others of such high standard and interesting to contemplate the judges thought processes. I was particularly impressed by three images. One commended image was a Hare caught in mid air while running towards the photographer and the second an exhibited superb image of a Red Deer stag shaking water from his coat. The third exhibited image was an enchanting scene of a wild boar and a tiny youngster. The patience, knowledge and timing that went into these images was truly inspiring.

I would like to thank Jackie for pushing me to enter these and other competitions recently. I would also like to thank Tony Hedger who gave lots of encouragement to enter competitions last year.
