“To read is to voyage through time.” ~Carl Sagan
The old Bar Room window in the lower portion of an old canal house in Phillipsport, New York, USA. (Circa 1820) Boatmen from the canal once came to this building which was an Inn, a Reading Room, and a Bar Room while supplies to the old barges were loaded, vessel repairs were being made, or in between shipping from dry dock areas. This town had no private residences, it’s only buildings were those used for the businesses pertaining to the Delaware and Hudson Canal.
After three years of neglect and two fires, the home was purchased and is being beautifully restored to all original condition today…they have made huge strides in the restoration!
