Recently, I found an old notebook with sketches and quotations that were relevant to a course that I was doing at the time . One page has the following three quotes about trees.
" A tree is a nobler object than a prince in his Coronation robes."
( Alexander Pope )
"A bird’s weight can break the infant tree which after, holds
an aviary in its arms.
( Robert Browning )
" The tree which moves some to tears of joy, is , in the eyes
of others, a green thing which stands in the way."
( William Blake )
All agree? Shirley
