In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Today is Friday, the day my favorite show comes on. Today Shaykh Umar discussed how an individual’s pride can be his or her downfall. And he described how pride has evolved over the years. It used to be that a person who was a haughty would look down his nose at someone, but now, pride has come to represent rejecting the truth about oneself.

Every word he said seemed to hit me on the nose. It was as if he knew me and was diagnosing my problem. I already know that I am sometimes too prideful, and I am getting better, but I think I could put in a little more effort.

So that is my mission. To be a little more honest with myself and more accepting of my flaws when they come from someone else.

Peace
