Artist's Description

This painting was part of a series produced out of my continued concern for the effects of a warming planet. I begin with a sublime, distant image of a glacial mountain from the colder regions of the earth.
By adjusting it I had hoped to emphasise the upheaval and overwhelming pressure we place on the earth’s natural systems, to pose the question
“Are we really capable of turning ice into desert?”
Recent statistical analysis into the global ice melt, as highlighted recently by Al Gore, has made this painting even more pertinent to me.
