That Certain Wind

I was thinking about the way the night came flowing down
The trees trembled in that certain wind
All this has happened before

I know how to loose myself in the air
To float on the frenzy of a dream
I wish I could see how it all would end

I’ve been down that road before,
His eyes momentarily mine
His hands conveying words that touch away the doubts.

Soft silent embraces arousing whatever sleeps inside,
Dormant throughout winter days,
Alive tonight as we gaze into each other’s eyes.

Each apart of the other,
Each lingering on
Wanting to believe, believing.

So I would have it this way always.

As the night comes, so the dawn
The edge of night melts away
The air is still

I know it’s almost time to go yet
I find myself alone
Wandering in the day
Thinking about tomorrow

Artist's Description

I wrote this poem for a man I loved many years ago, after we took a long walk in the park, the lighting was hitting the ground around us and the electricity was everywhere. He was like a bird, once caged unhappy so he would come and go, come and go. Then one day he didn’t return. I thought it was over. Many many years went by then one day he reappeared. I found him and loved him once again. But still this poem was in the background and I still wondered how it all will end. If it ever really ends when you love someone.
