This Slepcev Storch Meister, 55-954 on the ultralight register, gave an air display at the Orange Lions Air Show held at Orange Airport, Orange in the central west region of New South Wales, Australia in 1997.
The Slepcev Storch is a scaled-down version of the World War Two vintage Luftwaffe Fiesler Storch aircraft which is probably most famous as being the aircraft which the Nazis used to rescue Italian dictator, Mussolini, during the fall of his Fascist regime.
The Slepcev was manufactured in Port Macquarie on the North Coast of New South Wales. Slepcev also made a scaled version of the Messerschmidt Me109 but, I think, it was only a one-off. The Slepcev Storch, by comparison, was somewhat more successful – having several versions and also having some overseas sales.
The photo was taken with a Nikon F3 camera fitted with a Reflex-Nikkor 1000mm f11 mirror lens.
The photo was tweaked using Gimp software – smudge tool to remove some imperfections and brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
