I came across this ex-US Army tank (a Sherman, I think) while walking up from centre of Marseilles up to the cathedral of Notre-Dame De La Garde which overlooks the City of Marseilles. The tank was left as a memorial to the liberation of the city by the Allied Forces during the Second World War.
The photo was taken in 2012.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron AF Aspherical LD DiII SP 11-18mm 1:4.5-5.6 [IF] zoom lens plus polarizing filter.
The photo was tweaked using Gimp software – brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
