Delight and despair

DELIGHT AND DESPAIR

Those feelings sweep over me when I think of her, delight and despair.

Delight was those moments of closeness and intimacy. The savour of her, the warmth of her, the sweet taste of her and the softness of her skin. Happiness when I awoke to find her next to me, her hand on me, curling hair tickling my nose and the smell of her, sensual and arousing. I stroke her back, the line of firmness along the spine, the roundness of her, play with her toes and squeeze her calf, the tips of my fingers exploring her sensitivity, such delight.

Despair, for each night to lie in bed and read the story, I turn off the light and curl to sleep and she is not there. She has gone and the tear wells in my eye and slides from the corner and I feel it on my cheek. It is not to be, pain exceeds the pleasure for us and we parted, two wounded souls floating on the ocean of life, seeking and needing, still unrequited in love, both unhappy and yet unable. Sadness absorbs me, such despair.
