Truer Words Never Spoken

Truer Words Never Spoken

i wanted it to be true.
i wanted to believe it.
needed to have that chance.

but we’re all trained in our own way.
we’re all set up to take the fall.
but we can’t. And yet I do.

You are the naive smile of a child.
the friendly open hearted innocent.
the smile that forgives morbid atrocity.

You and I share a curse,
a duel sided bondage.
a twisted fate.

You want of me what you want of the world.
You see in me what you’ve read about.
and yet You disregard the tell tale signs

the branding of fate….
the missing pages in the fairy tale.
the tarnished in the armor.

You are the voice that holds me down,
instead of lifting me higher.
You are the body that withholds me,
instead freeing me.

You are the child i cannot raise,
the mind i cannot teach,
the soul i cannot bend.
the spirit i can only break.

id like to say i mean it,
id like to say i tried,
id like to say i didn’t want more….
id love to say i love you.

but I promised not to lie.
